Just like some of the previous World Cup 2010 football matches, there were no successful goals committed by any of the teams during the first half. Instead, several players received a yellow card – Suazo, Carmona and Ponce for Chile and Nkufo for Swizterland.
The second half began with each of the teams trying their best to score a goal. Chile’s efforts paid off during the 75th minute when Gonzalez scored a goal. Paredes from Chile raced round the back of the Swiss defense, rounded the goal keeper and crossed to the back post for Gonzalez to head into an unguarded net from close range.
The final whistle sounded in the 92nd minute marking the end of the match without any score for Switzerland. Congratulations to Chile and most especially to Gonzalez for winning this World Cup 2010 match against Switzerland. Too bad for Switzerland, they didn’t even manage to make it a draw.
