David VILLASpain started its early lead against Honduras when David Villa made a successful goal during the 17th minute of the game. It was a sublime strike by David Villa, who beat his marker before squeezing a shot past two Honduras defenders and the goal keeper himself. That was Villa’s fourth goal at the FIFA World Cup.
At the end of the first half, it was 1-0 in favor of Spain although the vast majority of the play has taken place in the Honduras half. The second half once again was in favor of Spain as David Villa once again scored for another goal in the 51st minute. Xavi from Spain burst down the center, played the ball to Navas who crossed to Villa. He hit a shot from the edge of the box which deflected off the knee of Chavez from Honduras, past the goal keeper and into the net.
The match continued up until the 92nd minute until the final whistle was heard to end the game. Congratulations to Spain for winning against Honduras. Don’t forget to stay tuned to us as we will be bringing more updates on the World Cup 2010.
