REPORT:
Just like with the previous World Cup 2010 football matches, the first score was not accomplished during the first half of the game. It was a late goal for Argentina during the 77th minute through Demichelis. Demichelis smashed a left foot shot into the roof of the net from close range after his initial header had rebounded back off Milito from Argentina.

Not long after that successful goal, another goal was scored by Argentina, this time through Palermo in the 89th minute. Messi was again denied by the goalkeeper after a dazzling solo run. But this time, his substitute Palermo was on hand to pick up the scraps and side-foot coolly into the far corner of the net.

The game finished in the 92nd minute with no successful goals coming from Greece. Congratulations to Argentina for winning this World Cup 2010 football match against Greece.

Going back to the recap of Mexico vs. Uruguay, Uruguay committed its first and only goal in this match in the 43rd minute just before the end of the first half through Suarez.

Forlan broke through the midfield and sent Cavani down the right flank. The Uruguay’s No7′s brilliant first-time cross was powerfully headed home by Suarez.

The action continued in the second half of the game with Uruguay still on top of it. However, nobody made another successful goal from both Mexico and Uruguay until the final whistle was heard in the 93rd minute to mark the end of the match. Congratulations to Uruguay for winning this World Cup 2010 football match against Mexico.

Champions Italy held by New Zealand‏

Defending champions Italy were held to a 1-1 draw in their World Cup Group F clash at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit by New Zealand, a team ranked 78th in the world.

Shane Smeltz’s close range effort gave New Zealand the lead as early as in the seventh minute and that was all they were looking for as they defended superbly from there on in. Italy did manage to equalise in the 29th minute with a Vincenzo Iaquinta penalty but could not get the winner despite having 17 shots (to New Zealand’s 3) and all of the 15 corners in the game.

It would be fair to say that Italy have not been playing like champs; nevertheless it was an outstanding effort from the Kiwis who have certainly left the Italians in more than just a bit of bother. Though the Azzuri can still make it through this group, they are now highly unlikely to top it after having drawn two games out of two. This means that they would have to face Group E winners (most likely the impressive Dutch) in the pre-quarters.

It would be suffice to say that things are definitely looking bleak for Italy as their title defense hangs right in the balance.
